Meet at the Fork Handles Café at Stow Hall Gardens for 4pm, where Nigel, our Gamekeeper, will introduce the walk before we head out onto the Estate. At this special time of year, we hope to hear the powerful roars of the red deer stags as they call out during the rut. These majestic animals truly make themselves heard!

There is also a good chance of spotting other species of deer and a variety of wildlife that are active in the early evening. We will be joined by Andrew, our resident deer expert, who will share his knowledge and insights along the way.

Points to note

  • Numbers are limited to 15 people per walk.
  • Please bring binoculars with you if you have them, if not there may be some you can borrow.
  • Please be aware that it may be cold or wet during the nature walks, so please dress in appropriate clothing & boots; we may be walking through grass, mud and uneven ground.
  • The walks are suitable for all ages but we would prefer children to be 8 or over. The Estate stretches over a few miles and we might be some distance from Stow Hall Gardens, so it may not always be possible to take a child back to the car if they are not enjoying the walk.
  • 27th September: 16:00 – 18:30
  • Adults & Children aged 8 and over: £12.00
  • Stow Hall Gardens Member or Church Farm Membership Holder: £10.00
