Treacle, Honey and our miniature donkey Douglas happily live together.
Our trio absolutely love their food – sometimes a little too much. They enjoy their life at Church Farm where they relish the fuss and attention from the livestock team and our guests.
Donkeys have a strong sense of self-preservation and are unwilling to do anything that they perceive as dangerous. One of the only times our donkeys object is if they are asked to go out in the rain – it is an absolute no!
Douglas is a gentle lad who loves his girls. His favourite past time (apart from eating) is playing with ropes.
When the donkeys want attention you will be able to hear them calling across the farm!
Donkeys are originally from Africa and Asia and it is believed that they were brought into this country by the Romans to be used as working animals.
Donkeys come in all shapes, sizes and colours. They are naturally clean and enjoy being pampered but they also find great pleasure in rolling in dust!
